Marina Reed passes

Natina Reed, best known as one third of the late 90′s R&B/Hip Hop group Blaque, was reportedly killed in Georgia over the weekend after she was struck by a car.


According to Georgia police, Reed was hit while crossing the street in Lawrenceville (near Atlanta) late Friday night (Oct 26).

The driver of the vehicle that accidentally hit Reed called 911, and the passenger performed CPR on Reed, contrary to initial reports that stated that the tragic accident was a “hit-and-run.”

Reed was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital about 30 minutes later. News about the tragedy quickly spread on Twitter, as Reed’s former group member Brandi Williams confirmed the reports.

The driver was later determined to not be at fault, multiple reports confirmed, and police are trying to figure out why Reed was in the roadway.

“It’s kind of a dark lit area,” Gwinnett County police spokesman Sgt. Rich Long said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “There is not really anything in that area that’s open at that time of night, that would be any kind of a draw to a person up there.”



As a member of Blaque, Reed achieved success in the late 1990′s with hit singles like “808″ and “Bring It All to Me,” the latter of which was an international success.

In addition to her singing career, Reed also had somewhat of an acting career, appearing in the popular 2000 film “Bring It On” and 2003′s “Honey” as herself.



Reed was also a protege of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who also died in a tragic car accident in Honduras over 10 years ago.

Reed is survived by her 10-year-old son Tren Brown, whose father is rapper Kurupt. She died two days shy of her 33rd birthday, which was Sunday, October 28th.

Kurupt said in a statement released to MTV News:

“Myself and Tren, Natina’s son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time,” he said. “This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did.”

Blaque’s Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-DeVoe also released a joint statement to E! News:

We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show.

Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend.

We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina’s family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared.

But joining Seth Meyers at the “Weekend Update” anchor desk, the popular “Sesame Street” character declined to comment on presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s vow to cut federal funding for PBS. Explaining why, Big Bird said he didn’t want to “ruffle any feathers.”

He told Meyers how he had learned of being mentioned on Wednesday’s debate. He said he’d gotten “a million tweets.” From real birds, that is. Since then, he said he was feeling very famous, standing tall above every other 8-foot talking bird. In closing, Big Bird shared a joke befitting his childish sense of humor.

Two times may be a charm for Christina Milian.

Last night, she was spotted out at Mr. Chow’s in West Hollywood with her boo Jas Prince .It is rumored that Christina and her man Jas are now engaged.

Houston Jas (the man that discovered Drake ) spoils miss Milian from head to toe. Larry Johnson arrested for domestic violence. The victim is his girlfriend for 4 years. The incident occurred at the Bellagio Hotel. Police arrived around 4am and state that they say the victim crying with visible bruises and scratches on her neck. The ex-girlfriend states, Larry had choked her to the point of unconsciousness Larry was arrested this morning in Las Vegas for domestic violence. The 32 year old former football player has been arrested 4 other times since 2003 for assaulting women. If you watched Empire Girls them you would remember that he was the ex-boyfriend that Julissa ran into in the streets of New York and cried over. I hope now that she sees that she is way better without him.

Lil Scrappy in jail

Lil Scrappy is still in jail due to arrest yesterday, thisis because he failed to check in with his probation officer, due to the 2008charges marijuana possession case. Scrappy had a warrant out for his arrest. Twoweeks ago Scrappy filed documents with the Delakb County Superior Court, askingthe judge to withdraw the warrant for his arrest. In the documents Scrappy admitsthat he failed to see his probation officer, but states that it was a mistakebecause he hasn’t seen his PO in a year in a half.

To me this doesn’t really matter you’re a grown man andshould be on top of things that will have such a impact on your life and peoplearound you.

The argument was over a disagreementover a contestant’s performance. According to mouth to ears.com, producers at Americanidol ended the auditions so that all the judges could calm down. I think thewhole situation is a hot mess both of them need to stop being divas and do whatthey were paid to do.

Attention! Attention! Bowwow has been ordered to pay back child support that he owes his baby's mother Jolie Chavis. The two were arguing over what he should pay a month for his daughter Shae. Bowwow states that he makes $4000 a month working for Cash Money Records before taxes. I'm sure you are all like "How will he afford the $3000 a month in child support?". Well Bowwow is now the new host of BETs 106 N Park, a successful music countdown show. The judge did state that Bowwow still had to pay the $11,500 he owes in back child support to Jolie Chavis. Sources state that due to his having only $1500 (yes you read that right, one thousand five hundred) currently in his checking account that's going to be a pretty tall order. If you're like me, you're wondering where the hell did all his money go? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he just play arguing with Chris Brown not too long ago about who's Ferrari was better or something like that? Yikes!
